Marijuana University Starts Enrolling in Maine
As the spring semester heads to an end for most universities, there is one school that is just starting to enroll...it's called the Marijuana State University. Doctors that recommend marijuana in Nevada first caught wind of Portland, Maine's newest addition to local medical marijuana efforts when Nevada medical marijuana clinics were just beginning to operate. Now the Marijuana State University is ready to roll.
The three hour class will focus on how to grow medical marijuana plants. The program was started by Ray Logan and it's targeted towards people who have a medical marijuana card but it's also available to the public. In Maine, you have to have a medical marijuana card, similar to how you have to get a medical marijuana card in Nevada.
The classes will be shown PowerPoint presentations and plant demonstrations. Ray says that there is a need for these types of classes because the demand for medical marijuana far exceeds the supply. Currently, Nevada medical marijuana clinics are not able to keep as much medicine on hand as they would like. That's because there is a set limit to how many plants you can grow for each patient. Las Vegas medical marijuana clinics have an extensive patient list and many of them can not find enough of their medicine to alleviate their symptoms. Now, residents of Maine are feeling the same pinch.
The problem is that caregivers and people who get a medical marijuana card in Las Vegas are only allowed to grow a set number of plants per person. As a caregiver, if you don't have that many people under you, then you can't grow that many plants, and if you don't have that much product then it's very hard for you to get those people under you. The laws have been set up to keep patients out. But, you can still find good Las Vegas medical marijuana. It's just that it's much harder to find high grade medical marijuana in Maine. This new medical marijuana university should fix that problem.
Right now the class sizes are small, but Ray Logan hopes that they will see the same type of success as Oaksterdam University in Oakland. Their university was one of the first of it's kind and has seen tremendous growth as new students flock to this marijuana growing haven. Now all Logan has to do is transform Portland Maine into a medical marijuana friendly place like California. Tough task but he is definitely up to the challenge.
Before beginning his business, Ray contacted the state and was told that they would not endorse but that it was a good idea. Ray hopes that his business will continue to grow until more patients are able to experience the affects as medical marijuana. Las Vegas medical marijuana doctors are pulling for him to create something special out East.
